Vertical louvered shutters in Brasília-DF [311]

The Sebrae Headquarters building has two large glazed facades, to southeast and northwest directions. Solar protection is separated from the glass forming a gallery of maintenance. It consists of large vertical pivoting motorized panels. The frames are filled with vertical fixed slats of perforated aluminium, disposed at an angle of about 45° with the frame.

The formal result is brilliant. The frames are moved in groups of about six panels, fragmenting the image of the facade.

Unfortunately, the protection seems insufficient. The micro perforation is generous and the radiation penetrates too much, especially if the sun is not very high.
