Two interventions with reflective curtains in St Nazaire [546]

The large glazing of these houses, with their public and private intermediate spaces, would be impossible without an effective solar protection. Lacaton & Vassal avoided the cost of external protections, always heavier and more difficult to handle, relying on a very useful historical solution: reflective curtains located behind the glass. The huge reflective capacity of these curtains ensures the expulsion of most of the received radiation converting it in reflected radiation.

The inner blue liner improves the thermal insulation of the assembly and reduces the intensity of illumination.
