Two deployés by Sanaa [606]
Sanaa is using deployé as general wrapping over buildings, covering openings and solid walls. In NY Moma expansion, this spectacular deployé with quite wide undulations allows good views of the outside, even horizontally. Looking downside the vision is perfect, but its solar protection is questionable.
.
On Yoshida Printing building the material is used in a more elaborated way. The sheet also covers the whole building, but subtle deformations set the rhythm of the floors. Some sheet strips are deformed to overlie the lower ones, drawing shadow lines. The deployé is thinner and more closed in this case, certainly its effectiveness as solar protection is much better.
