Jewellery restoration in Copenhagen [523]

After the demolition of the 1964’s facade, a totally glazed skin facade has been reconstructed. A perforated metal sheet, formed by endless articulated parts, is provided to protect the glass. Each module of glass is covered by a series of plates, which some of them (alternate) can be folded vertically on the top of the opening.

The panels are motorized, and every morning alternate panels open. So a modulated facade appears, similar to the modulation of the neighbours. At night, all the blinds are closed and the building is protected by the continuity of the sheet.

The sheets are perforated with a delicate pattern that recalls the jewellery feature.
