Huge horizontal pivoting shutter by Carles Ferrater [318]
Carlos Ferrater built this photographer studio for his brother and equipped it with a magnificent double height glazing. The light control requirement, so important in this case, is achieved by separate solar shading in each of the two levels.
At the top level, the solar protection is a venetian blind of small slats arranged inside the fixed glazing. On the lower level, it consists of wooden louvered panels equipped with hydraulic bars that allow its 90° pivoting to the horizontal position as visor.
In this lower level, the glass is hanging in a stainless steel frame that moves as vertical sliding and conceals at the top level to open the study to exterior space.
