Coloured perspective expanding awnings on housing [259]
The project was designated winner in a competition for the construction of two blocks of low-cost apartments. The units have the minimum space determined by the Slovenian regulations, but are expanded with the colorful intermediate spaces, affording panoramic views over the bay.
The strong colours create different atmospheres within the apartments. Perspective and visual lines are accentuated and utilized, connecting the interiors with their surround, thus making the small rooms seem more spacious.
Perforated side-panels allow the summer breeze to ventilate the space, while boxes at the side of each balcony provide room for air-conditioning units.
