Bamboo strips on shaded terrace in Madrid [200]
This block of flats in Carabanchel neighbourhood of Madrid extends the living space with an intermediate space protected from solar radiation with bamboo shutters on folding-sliding frames. The practicability of the protection allows adaptation to different orientations of the sun and open views to the surrounding gardens.
A rolling shutter protects the sliding glazing, reducing the conductivity of the glass when closed.
The picture shows the warmth of the atmosphere as a result of the bamboo filter. It also allows ventilation even when closed, allowing not only the intermediate space cooling, but also the cooling of the protection element, which reduces the radiation to the intermediate space.
