Vertical folding-sliding metallic shutters, by MAP [046]

This window of the St. Jordi's Hall of residence, was designed by Josep Lluís Mateo and Jordi Pagés with the purpouse of achieving a continous facade. The blind shutter is a steel sheet that can fold up vertically; as a result, when the shutter is closed there is no discontinuity. On the other hand, the shutter works as a small porch, so the bedroom is softly lit during the hottest hours of sunshine.

<p>This is the east front of the building. As we see, when the shutter is closed it makes a continous surface.</p>
