Twisted slats: open to views - protect from glare, by Trespa [209]

The façade of this German Education Center opens by twisting the material that wraps around the building. Trespa louvers are twisted to change from the opacity of its role as coating to the transparency of perpendicular vertical slats in the middle high.

The image is spectacular, but arouses some doubts about the design of the slat. On the upper floor its use is perfect: the louver opens to views at the bottom and closes to glare at the top. But in the other two floors, functional outcome seems result of the search for an emphatic exterior design.
