Horizontal folding shutters by João Alvaro Rocha [030]

The architect João Alvaro Rocha sketched horizontal bands which cover the windows with solid elements and in which the dominant material is wood. All that wood line slightly sets back from the facade and contrasts with the plastered walls.

Inside, behind the glass of the windows, it has a folding plywood panels on the jambs.

When closed, these plywood leaf form a shutter separated from the glass by an air space. The detail reproduced shows how the solid sample located in this band are covered externally with wooden panels similar to the interiors.
