Exterior folding sliding shutters on Maison Malatesta [094]

The Malatesta building is a country side hotel located in the Marche region in Italy. The project begins from the restoration of three existing buildings. The main building was built at the end of the 19th century to be enlarged during the first half of the 20th century, two additional buildings were added at a later date.

One of the restoration operations modified windows to make them larger than the original ones, framed by a layer of corten, placed almost randomly on the facade. Also the jambs of the windows were modified, to open horizontally the views.

The trim on the jamb allows the isolating shutters to open more than 90º, broadening the range of the views and the natural illumination.
