Colourful glass louvers on office in Colonia, S&H [212]

This office building has an extensive glass facade that allows a high use of natural light. To reduce the input of heat produced by direct solar radiation, computer controlled exterior shutters adapt to each moment of the day. Besides, these vertical elements integrate flat glasses in the curved shape of the building.

The vertical pivoting shutters can also be regulated with the control panels installed in offices. They have a serigraph pattern that allows exterior views without going against solar and privacy protection. The serigraph blurs from a dense proportion on the bottom to a lighter on the top.

It is a section through the facade, showing the match among the shutters, the frame and the structure, and the continuity of the thermal and sealing wrapping.1 - Laminated serigraph glass shutter 2 - Laminated glass railing.3 – Operable carpentry leaf.
